THE TRUTH ABOUT UV RAYS

Let’s talk about UV rays!

UV stands for ultraviolet, which is a type of electromagnetic radiation that comes from the sun. There are three types of UV rays: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVC rays are the most dangerous, but luckily they are mostly absorbed by the Earth’s atmosphere and don’t reach us.

UVA rays are the most common type of UV radiation and can penetrate the skin deeply. They’re responsible for causing skin aging, wrinkles, and dark spots, as well as contributing to skin cancer. UVA is consistent throughout the day and can penetrate windows and cloud cover, unlike UVB rays.

UVB rays, on the other hand, are responsible for causing sunburns and also play a role in the development of skin cancer. UVB is most intense from the late morning to early afternoon. It can also be especially damaging at high altitudes and can be reflected off of snow.

UVA = Aging,  UVB = Burning

It’s important to protect your skin from UV rays by wearing PreSunscreen + broad-spectrum SPF, which means that it protects against both UVA and UVB rays. You should also wear protective clothing, like a hat or long-sleeved shirt, and try to avoid being in direct sunlight during peak hours when the sun’s rays are strongest.

Remember, exposure to UV rays can be harmful to your health, so take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your beautiful skin.
